Hi,

As stated in the features, Party EXP distribution is 100%/20%, but not much information is available on whether this applies only to party of 2 or for bigger parties.

Will like to better understand party exp distribution with/without HS. Doing this test on Galloperas, which is suppose to give 10000 exp per mob.

Without HS

Solo: 10,000 exp [100% / no leech] (effective total exp: 10,000)
Party of 2: 10,000 exp / 2,000 exp [100% / 20% leech] (effective total exp: 12,000)
Party of 3: 9,500 exp / 1,500 exp [95% / 15.7% leech] (effective total exp: 12,500)
Party of 4: 9,200 exp / 1,200 exp [92% / 13% leech] (effective total exp: 12,800)

With HS

Taking into account the different rates for HS

Party SizeHS bonus
1110%
2130%
3140%
4150%
5150%
6150%

Solo: 11,000 exp [110% / no leech] (effective total exp: 11,000)
Party of 2: 13,012 exp / 2,602 exp [130.12% / 20% leech] (effective total exp: 15,614)
Party of 3: 13,300 exp / 2,100 exp [133% / 15.7% per leech] (effective total exp: 17,500)
Party of 4: 13,800 exp / 1,800 exp [138% / 13% leech] (effective total exp: 19,200)

So with this little test, we can conclude the following points:

1. Dream MS really discourages leeching, the bigger your party, less exp will be distributed to the leeches, and effective total exp starts to plateau.
2. Beyond a party of 2, the main attacker will get lower exp with each additional party member.
3. The HS bonus rates applies to the party exp rates, hence it is not really as attractive as it seems in a bigger party. XD

Feel free to test the exp rates for parties of 5 and above and let me know the results.

Hi there!

Firstly, thanks for the detailed post regarding the issue. The party exp distribution on our server is quite unique. Let me break it down for you in this response.

When creating this server, we aimed for a more challenging environment where leeching was not the go-to like most servers. The party exp distrubtion was initially set to 80:20 (just how GMS had it in later versions) but we found that it was just not worth forming a party due to the poor exp pool. This was an issue as we wanted to promote party play at the same time.

If you go through our changelog, we revised the party exp distribution back in April 2019.

2-Party3-Party4-Party5-Party6-Party
Old Party Distribution20%10%7%5%4%
New Party Distribution20%15%12%10%8%

And then in August 2019, we improved the formula to further benefit attackers by increasing the ratio to 100:20.

These 2 changes increased the overall exp pool as in theory, previously the pool should always be a fixed amount.

With that out of the way, the formula was definitely not accurate for the attacker whilst in a party of 3 or more. This will be adjusted in the server restart happening today. You will definitely see an improvement in this aspect.
